Silsden's young guns were knocked out of the FA Youth Cup at Gigg Lane tonight as first-round hosts Bury eased through with a comfortable win.
First-team boss Paul Schofield was watching from the sidelines and said: "Bury scored in the sixth minute and were two up midway through the first half. It was all over when they scored a third very soon after the break.
"Our lads showed character to dig in at that point and not get rolled over. It was a fair result as the Bury youngsters are top of their section. They have the benefit of full-time coaching and passed the ball really well."
