CITY boast the best home record in League Two.

Now they are being challenged to take that form on to the road.

Gary Bowyer’s side have bagged 22 points from their 10 games at Valley Parade so far with seven wins. That is more home victories than anyone else in the division.

But they have won only three times away in nine attempts – at Walsall and bottom two Stevenage and Morecambe.

Paudie O’Connor insists that is something City can improve when they travel to Leyton Orient this weekend.

The Bantams will head to the capital as favourites and the defender feels they must justify that prediction.

“We’ve got to expect that,” he said. “It’s a big club here and we’ve got a lot of good players.

“Even among ourselves, we expect to win every game and Leyton Orient will be no different.

“We’ve got to go down there aiming for three points and we’ll do our best to try and come away with them.”

City’s clean sheet in the Newport win made up for recent lapses at Macclesfield and Plymouth.

O’Connor added: “In certain games, we’ve had a lot of the ball and then let ourselves down with a lapse in concentration.

“Whether it’s a cross into the box or a set-piece, it’s just something small. It’s been our own downfall.

“I don’t think teams have massively cut us open and created many chances.”

Ben Richards-Everton remains “touch and go” after picking up a strain last week. O’Connor is determined to seize the chance to retain his starting spot.

He said: “I try to keep my performances up to the highest level possible and then it’s up to the gaffer to make a decision.”
