A MARTIN Charles hat-trick sealed a thrilling Bradford Sunday Alliance Division Two win for Clayton Albion, as they beat fellow high-flyers Great Horton 4-3 at home.

Hayden Sykes was also on target for the hosts, who overtook Horton to go second with the win. The visitors’ goals came courtesy of Oliver Penn, Daniel Stoker and Kyle Matthews.

Both remain just behind leaders Windhill Ajax, who recorded a thumping 6-3 home victory over Delius. Andrew Scullion was the hero, wrapping up his hat-trick with a last minute goal.

Elsewhere, a clash between two strugglers, Buttershaw St Paul’s and AFC Wibsey Reserves, ended in a hard-fought 2-2 draw.

There was another 2-2 draw in the Intermediate Cup. Michael Dougan’s double earned Prospect Reserves a penalty shootout at home to Clayton Athletic, which they subsequently won 4-2.

Beldon Oddies Reserves are top of Division Three but they were no match for Division Two side AFC Lions, going out of the cup with a 7-2 defeat.

The Oddies’ cup clash allowed Royal Clayton to move behind them on goal difference, as they won 1-0 in the league at Garden Shed AFC.

AFC Undercliffe made a mess of their chance to catch up to the leaders, slipping to their first defeat of the season with a 5-2 home loss to Lincoln Barbers.

Meanwhile, St Bede’s AFC thumped hapless Park Avenue Old Boys Juniors 4-0.

There was no on pitch action in the Premier Division, but Oakenshaw were gifted their second home walkover win in two weeks, this time against Westwood Park.

Station Hotel also got a walkover, in the Senior Cup at FC Dog & Gun.

The pick of the results in the Championship saw Keighley Town earn a fine 5-3 victory at East Bierley Village, while there were also away wins for Peacock Bar and FC Queensbury.

Prospect AFC would have been disappointed with their 1-1 draw at rock-bottom AFC Titans meanwhile.

In Division One, Throstle Nest United crushed Bolton Woods Socials 7-2, while Eccleshill Lane Ends won 3-1 at Beldon Oddies.
