ST Bede's missed the chance to go top of the Yorkshire Amateur League Premier Division after a shambolic 9-2 home defeat against Middleton.

Scott Burns smashed home five for the visitors, while Danny Chadwick scored a brace of fantastic free-kicks.

Middleton were winning 9-0, but received a late red card, which allowed Alex Green and Muhammed Khan to net consolation strikes for Bede's.

PFC made no mistake in their efforts to reach the summit, going top of the Championship with a 4-2 win at Bradford rivals Idle.

Their goals came from Kashyf Akmal, Abdul Ghaffar, Haseeb Khan and Mohammed Zubair Khan.

Idle, who had not played in four weeks, looked a little rusty and struggled despite replies from Tom Simonett and Josh Mathers. They remain in 10th.

Meanwhile, an extraordinary Supreme Division game saw visitors Drighlington race into a 3-0 lead inside 20 minutes at Route One Rovers.

The hosts fought back to trail 3-2 at the break and were decisive in the second half, as the pace and fitness of the Drig players waned.

Danyal Yasin, returning after a month out with injury, ended up with a hat-trick as his side emerged as 7-3 winners. Route One moved up to fourth with victory, while Drig remain third bottom in 13th.

A much-improved Steeton Reserves put themselves clear of relegation danger and into 11th with a fine 3-1 home win over Athletico.

The visitors, who remain in ninth after defeat, took the lead against the run of play in the 21st minute, but Steeton quickly got back on level terms thanks to a goal from 16-year-old winger Lewis Gardner.

Allister Morgan headed the hosts in front early in the second half after beating the Athletico keeper to a corner, before Tom Goodall sealed the win with a 68th minute header from man of the match Gardner's cross.

Athletico's Reserves fared much better down in Division One and they remain top after a 4-1 home win over Leeds City Reserves, with Saad Abbas grabbing a fine hat-trick.

Other teams have games in hand though, and Beeston St Anthony YAL sit just three points behind with four games in hand after thumping Tyersal 7-2.

Tyersal Reserves shot up to third in Division Four, winning 4-1 against Thornesians Reserves courtesy of goals from Brian Hands, William Lowther, James Scott and Harvey Oddy.

Finally, Prospect were thrashed 6-1 by Colton Athletic in the Hancock Cup.
