BRADFORD (Park Avenue) Ladies were beaten 6-0 by fellow promoted side Hepworth United to remain only a point above bottom-placed Harrogate Railway in the North East Regional Southern Division.

Despite a few good saves from Nic Chamberlain and a Laura Brown penalty miss, Avenue found themselves 4-0 down at the break.

Nat Bell had several chances in the second half, including a penalty saved by the hosts' new keeper Laura Carter, Hepworth's defence, led by Clair Berry, stood strong to capture the clean sheet.

United added another two in the period to seal a convincing win thanks to goals from skipper Jolene Forrest (2), Renata Feherova, Kim Antonio, Laura Brown and Sophie Walsh.

Bradford face a tougher test this weekend when they host joint leaders Sheffield Wednesday at Hollingwood Lane.

Thackley Firsts were also dealt with a similar fate as they were condemned to a 5-1 defeat at second-placed Farsley Junior Firsts in the West Riding Premier Division.

Ilkley Town produced an upset by beating league leaders Farsley Junior Reserves 2-1 in the First Division.

Bethan Smith opened the scoring for Town, who dominated the first half, despite the ball trickling over for a Farsley equaliser just before the break.

Ilkley keeper Gemma Croft had a tremendous game and top scorer Heather Fisher-Pedley put away a well-deserved winner.

Silsden host West Riding League leaders Yorkshire Amateur, Tyersal are at home to Republica Internationale, while in the FA Cup, Brighouse Town are at Chorley and Huddersfield Town visit Stoke City, in next weekend's fixtures.
