A BRADFORD City shirt from the 1990s is set to take pride of place at a national exhibition.

The Bantams' home shirt from the 1993-94 season is set to feature in a new exhibition at the National Football Museum in Manchester.

The kit, sponsored by Freemans, was worn by City stars including Paul Jewell, Dean Richards, Lee Sinnott and Lee Duxbury.

It will appear in the 'STRIP! How Football Got Shirty' exhibition, which is set to open next Friday.

City's claret and amber strip will be displayed in the 'Bold and the Brave' section of the exhibition which will celebrate iconic strips of the 1980s and 90s.

The museum’s latest exhibition unpicks the global fascination with football shirts and how they have influenced football culture, design, fashion and technology.

With more than 200 shirts on display, 'STRIP!' is one of the largest curated exhibitions of football shirts ever assembled in England.

Other shirts on display include England's home Umbro design worn by the Three Lions at Italia '90, Brazil’s classic 1970 World Cup jersey and West Germany’s 1988-1990 home effort.

Jon Sutton, The National Football Museum’s lead curator for the exhibition, said: "Football shirt culture has become a huge phenomenon and has devotees across the world.

"We are sure this exhibition will appeal to anyone with an interest in design, fashion and technology."
