BRADFORD (Park Avenue) travelled to York RI for a North East Regional League Southern Division fixture, suffering a heavy defeat following a disastrous first half.

Bradford were unfortunate to be 2-0 down after York netted a penalty and "nutmegged" goalkeeper Annie Roberts.

Millie West pulled a goal back for Avenue, but RI struck four times to make it 6-1 at the break.

Bradford did grab a couple of goals back in the second half through assistant manager Becky Teale and Ash Butler.

Despite having no substitutes available, it was Avenue who kept going against a tiring RI, with new player Lauren Pickup running non-stop throughout the game.

York scored late-on to end the game 7-3, but Bradford will have some confidence for their next league game in two weeks' time.

Silsden were 2-0 down at half-time in their West Riding County Women's Premier Division game against Lower Hopton and ended up losing 5-0.

Meanwhile, Ilkley Town scored four in a ten-minute spell in their 5-1 victory over Republica Internationale.

In the League Cup, Farsley's Firsts beat Lower Hopton 7-0 through Brydie Greenwood, a Jess Davies screamer, Gemma Skinner, Jasmin Cooper and a Cam Kerford hat-trick.
