SILSDEN’S Dougie Lampkin has confirmed that he has agreed terms to continue his relationship with Vertigo Motors, Spain.

The 12-time motorcycle trial world champion, who has also won the Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) a dozen times, has signed a contract that will see him extend his association with the brand to seven years, until the end of 2021.

Lampkin will continue to fulfil a range of roles and duties for the trials bike company, which include being a brand ambassador, development rider and team manager.

The 43-year-old will carry on using his vast amount of experience to help boost Vertigo Motors sporting and commercial activities.

2020 promises to be a huge year for the long standing Red Bull athlete, as he looks to achieve more silverware at the top level and use his immense knowledge of the sport to aid his other Vertigo factory riders; Jaime Busto, Miquel and Aniol Gelabert, Berta Abellan and Pau Martinez.

Despite already being the most successful rider ever at the SSDT, 'Doug' will represent the brand across the world by firstly participating in the Scottish Highlands next spring, as he looks to increase his overall tally and make it five wins on the board for Vertigo.

In addition to flying the flag on the international stage, the Silsden rider will continue to develop and grow his Vertigo UK venture, which has seen his company become firmly established as the sole importer of the full Vertigo product range since 2015.

Having extended the UK dealer network substantially over the last twelve months, Lampkin has helped Vertigo UK enjoy its most successful year to date during 2019 with a record number of bikes being sold throughout his homeland.

Speaking about his recent contract extension, Lampkin said: “I am obviously very happy to continue working inside a project that I have been part of since the very first day.

"Vertigo has come a long way over the last five years and I am proud of what we have achieved together both in terms of the bikes that we are now delivering to customers and our sporting success as a team and my own results too.

"I am confident that over the next two years we can continue our strong collaboration on all levels.”
