ILKLEY Town took advantage of leaders Beeston St Anthony's postponement at Field, as a 3-2 home win over Newsome put them second, six points off the summit of the West Yorkshire League Premier Division.
The hosts picked up their eighth league win in 12 games thanks to goals from Thomas Fleming, Joe Hendrie and Tom Smith.
In Division One, high-flying Campion slumped to a shock 3-0 defeat at second-bottom Wyke Wanderers.
It was just Wyke's second win of the season, with Joshua Hainsworth, Kai Green and Louis Sterling all on target.
Pool picked up an impressive 4-0 win at mid-table rivals Hartshead, as Harry Higgins netted twice.
Meanwhile, Salts had their game at East End Park called off due to the adverse weather.
In the West Riding County Challenge Cup, a dominant Wibsey were somehow beaten 2-1 at Featherstone Colliery, despite having over 70 per cent possession.
In Alliance Division One, Field Reserves and Salts Reserves both kept up their title charge, winning 4-2 and 2-1 against Otley Town Reserves and Headingley AFC Reserves respectively.
Finally, Jordan Drake netted the winner as struggling Pool Reserves picked up a vital 1-0 home win over Wyke Wanderers Reserves in Alliance Division Two.
