STEETON will take a welcome break from league action this weekend when they go on their travels in the cup.

Roy Mason's bottom-placed men go to Garstang in the Macron Cup second round on Saturday following a 3-1 defeat to AFC Liverpool in the North West Counties League Division One North on Wednesday night.

In their first game at Cougar Park since it was announced they would be seeking an alternative home from next season, Steeton took a 26th-minute lead via Ben Clarkson.

But the Merseyside outfit took over, hitting back through James Salkeld (17), David Cockerline (41) and Kyle Schorah (47).

Meanwhile, in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division, third-placed Liversedge travel to Grimsby Borough, who are one point and one place below them.

Seven days after they last met in in a thrilling 3-3 league draw, Silsden host Albion Sports in a derby clash.

Eccleshill United have a tricky-looking clash when they travel to sixth-placed Yorkshire Amateur.

Thackley will be looking for their first win at Maltby Main since the 2013/14 season tomorrow.
Maltby have the same number of points as Thackley, 16, but their inferior goal difference means that they occupy the place below them in the table.

They have also played two games more than Pat McGuire’s Dennyboys. The Miners have won just once in their last six games.
