BRADFORD Bulls have appointed Ryan Hunkin as the club’s new Under-16s head coach.

Hunkin has spent two years working as a rugby league development coach for the Bradford Bulls Foundation and will combine that role with his new scholarship position.

Bradford-born, Hunkin was awarded coach of the year at the National Conference Awards – having led West Bowling to the NCL Division Two title, boasting the third best attack in England behind Toronto Wolfpack and St Helens.

Hunkin has spoke of his excitement at the role and his passion to continue the work done in previous years and shape the future of the club.

He said: "I am delighted to be taking on the role as Under-16s head coach and looking forward to getting stuck in as pre-season gets underway imminently.

"It was an honour to be asked by head of youth Leigh Beattie and I am excited to continue the good work done by Mark Dunning across the last few years.

“Coaching juniors and the next generation of Bulls players is a passion of mine and I am really looking forward to getting started and helping shape the future of this great club."
