HARRY Pritchard has his sights on delivering promotion payback to City boss Gary Bowyer.

The winger owes Bowyer for giving him his break in the pro game – and reckons the best way to thank his manager is by helping steer the Bantams straight out of League Two.

Pritchard will always be grateful to his current gaffer for plucking him out of part-time football at Maidenhead.

And having signed him twice now, he believes it is time to repay Bowyer’s faith.

Pritchard said: “He brought me into league football at Blackpool and then obviously signed me here for Bradford.

“I do owe him a massive thank you for that and hopefully I can repay him with performances, goals and assists to help us get promoted.”

Pritchard, who has scored twice for City since swapping places with Sean Scannell, was 25 when Bowyer took him to Blackpool after scoring 14 goals and providing 12 assists in Maidenhead’s first season in the National League.

He added: “I always wanted to be a professional footballer while playing part-time and working.

“Getting on at the age of 25 I didn’t think that it was over but obviously it wasn’t starting to happen.

“But I had a good season in the Conference and luckily I got that break.

“I was round the academies at a younger age then I just went to the local teams, Flackwell Heath, Burnham, Maidenhead around the area where I live.

“You are always hoping. You know there are going to be scouts at games with how the Conference is.

“It’s a very good level now and there are some strong teams. If you have a good season, you always hope that someone will be watching.

“Thankfully and luckily enough for me Gary was watching and brought me to Blackpool.”

Pritchard has begun well at Valley Parade since hooking up with Bowyer again and has shown his adaptability by playing out wide and down the middle.

"We have got a great depth to the squad and that is what Gary wanted to bring into Bradford,” he said.

“With anybody who comes in, it is not as if they are going to be out of position or out of place. That is what is going to help us over these winter months.

"I think there is a little bit more to come and we need to be winning a bit more convincingly. That is what we have said in the group.

“We are getting the wins but want to be winning convincingly by three, four or five. It would be a dream to win 5-0.

"There's a great buzz here."
