FARSLEY Celtic are looking to continue their excellent start to the season, as they face an intriguing FA Cup Third Qualifying Round tie at home to Southport.

The pair faced off in the Vanarama National League North two months ago, in a game which saw the Celts crushed 3-0. But since then, newly-promoted Farsley have fired their way into fourth, while Southport are now floundering in mid-table.

Boss Adam Lakeland will be hopeful that today’s clash goes on form, rather than on what happened in that depressing home defeat in August.

Down in the BetVictor Northern Premier League North West Division, mid-table Brighouse Town face a tough away clash at Ramsbottom United, in eighth.

Thackley have lost their last two league games but are still in the top half of the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

They will fancy themselves at home to Bottesford Town, who are struggling and coming off the back of a midweek thrashing at Eccleshill United.

The Eagles won that game 4-1 and it gave them a bit of breathing space from the relegation zone. They have a good chance to move further up the table today, as they take on third-bottom Barton Town.

Meanwhile Albion Sports visit fellow mid-table side Knaresborough Town.

Finally, an unbeaten September saw Campion position themselves nicely just outside the play-off spots in Division One, and they could go second with a home win over Armthorpe Welfare this weekend.
