SAM Hallas reckons the Bulls can grow into a formidable unit over time – if they can stay together.

The special measures currently imposed on the club are creating an uncertain atmosphere ahead of next year’s move to Dewsbury.

Hallas, whose contract is up at the end of the month, remains unsure of his own position as the Bulls wait for the all-clear from the RFL to be able to give out new deals.

The 22-year-old, pictured below, is hoping to stay part of a squad he feels has the capability to get stronger because of their youthful age.

He said: “It’s mad with the age group. Even Steve (Crossley), one of the older ones, is only 29 and he’s got loads of years left in him.

“Elliot Minchella is vice-captain at 23 and we talk about young Tom Doyle and he’s only three years younger than me.

“Everyone talks about young Brandon Pickersgill and we’re the same age.

“John’s put together a young, talented squad and we’ve got some good leaders in there as well as the youth.

“If everything sorts itself out and we can stay together, in four or five years we’ll all be in our prime and hopefully take the competition by storm.

“We’ve got some really talented players. It’s an exciting future if we can keep hold of them.”

The dialogue between the club and the RFL is still on-going.

The Bulls continue to send information requested by the governing body on a daily basis – something that has been going on since mid-August.

But there has been no hint as to when the RFL will be satisfied with the financial forecasts and the embargo lifted

It leaves the Bulls watching on as their Championship rivals continue their own recruitment programme.

After his release from Bradford, Halifax unveiled Matty Garside earlier this week – the fifth new signing at the Shay.

John Kear has already spoken out about missing out on six targets while the Bulls are prevented from bringing anybody in. He is also concerned at the prospect of losing the likes of Hallas and George Flanagan.
