SAM Hallas admits he cannot hang on forever to stick with the Bulls.

Hallas is hoping to extend his Bradford stay for the move to Dewsbury next year – and the club have already made it clear he is on their wish-list.

They have made him a verbal offer but the RFL’s current block on recruitment stops them from taking it any further.

The 22-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of next month, conceded he is in a “difficult” situation.

Hallas said: “There’s no doubt I love playing for Bradford and everything that comes with it.

“But it’s tough as much as I love the group of lads. There’s going to come a point where I’ve got to think of myself.

“That’s the difficult thing. I’m only young so I’ve got time but it’s a weird one.

“You get interest from other places and hear different voices coming in. I’ve got to sit down with the right people to weigh things up and hopefully make the right decision.”

The Bulls have been hoping to be out of special measures by the end of the month. But the RFL have not given them any official indication of when the embargo will be lifted.

A spokesman would only say: “They are in special measures and they know what they’ve got to do to get out of it.”

For the likes of Hallas and George Flanagan, another player the Bulls aim to keep, it creates a period of uncertainty.

“I don’t have too many pay days left,” added Hallas, who missed only three of the 27 Championship rounds last season.

“They have said that when they come out of these measures they are keen on keeping me.

“But nobody knows when that is going to be. If it’s too late, then I’ll end up having no choice.

“It’s an awkward situation and not one that I thought I’d be in.

“We’re in this limbo of not knowing when they are going to be allowed to sign players again. You’ve got to get irons in the fire.

“I don’t really know anyone who has been in this position where a club can’t offer you a deal even though they want to.

“But hopefully it’s soon and it’s a good deal because I want to stay. It’s just up in the air.”

The Bulls currently have 14 players contracted for next year but Hallas is confident they can go one better after missing out on the play-offs by a point.

He said: "We're only young and John (Kear) has built a really good squad.

"We’ve obviously lost a few men but the recruitment has shown that he can put together a strong team."
