WYKE travel to Featherstone in the Yorkshire Men's League (YML) Division Two play-off final, hoping to complete the treble having already won the Bradford cup and going unbeaten to win the league.

Wyke play a good Ossett Trinity Tigers team on Saturday who, over the course of the season, ran Wyke close in both games with the more recent encounter being a 16-14 thriller.

Ian Wormald, Wyke coach, said: “Ossett are the best team we have played in the last few years and this will be a great game to watch.

"I’m very happy with what we have achieved this season and the final will be good day out for the lads and a fitting way to finish the season.

"We are going there to win and I’m confident if the lads apply themselves like they have in big games throughout the season we can bring another trophy back to Wyke."

John Rayner, Wyke chairman, said: “2019 has been a fantastic year for Wyke ARLFC.

"Open age, winning the Bradford Cup for the second year running, YML Division Two champions and our Academy side securing a mid-table spot in Division Four.

"Saturday's play-off final at Featherstone promises to be a great game between the best two teams in Division Two and a fitting way to end the summer season.

"We would love to see fans from across all age groups come out and support the boys as they go for an historic treble, lets get the Wyke Black and White Army out in full force.”

The play-off final is being held at The LD Nutrition Stadium Featherstone (11am kick-off).

There is a bus that is going to the final, setting off from Wyke at 9am and seats are £5 on a first-come-first-served basis. Contact Ian Wormald if you would like any.

After the game the squad will be coming back to The Crown pub in Wyke at approximately 3pm for man of the matches and an end-of-season celebration, everyone is welcome at the Crown.
