PLAYERS and a manager with Bradford City connections are battling for League Two monthly honours.

Eoin Doyle, who has moved from City to Swindon Town in a season-long loan has been nominated for the division's player of the month prize.

He has made a spectacular start to his spell at the County Ground with four goals in five games.

Former City fans' favourite James Hanson will also battle it out for the accolade. He hit five goals and two assists during the first month of the season following his summer move to Grimsby Town.

They will be vying for the prize alongside Newport County full-back Ryan Haynes and Forest Green Rovers wing-back Joseph Mills.

Meanwhile, former Bantams midfielder Michael Flynn has been shortlisted for the manager of the month prize for August.

His Newport County side kept five clean sheets in six unbeaten games as his team notched up 12 points.

Flynn, who has been linked with the vacant Lincoln City job, will battle it out with Crewe Alexandra’s David Artell, Grimsby Town's Michael Jolley and Exeter City's Matt Taylor.
