TOMORROW sees Bradford Bulls host Toronto Wolfpack on our ‘Foundation Takeover Day’ – where all things Bradford Bulls Foundation will be celebrated in aid of the club’s official charity.

Here are our five reasons why you should attend and support the Bradford Bulls Foundation:

1 Mental Health Partnership: The Foundation recently entered into a partnership with Lynfield Mount Hospital to host their mental health service users once a week following the demise of their sporting facilities.

The group, led by the Foundation’s rugby league development coach Ryan Hunkin, will spend an hour on the famous Odsal turf participating in sport-related activities.

These sessions have been designed to help build resilience and confidence.

2 Community Club Programme: 2019 has seen the inception of the Bulls’ Community Club Ambassador programme – with two of John Kear’s first team playing squad assigned a local club in the Bradford district.

The players will spend an evening training with the juniors of their specific club before the club enjoy a takeover day for a Bulls home fixture – taking part in Bullman’s Parade as well as half-time entertainment on the pitch.

3 Increasing participation in Junior Rugby League: The Foundation have engaged with more than 30,000 adults and children across the Bradford district so far this year.

More than 1,000 juniors across the course of the 2019 season have taken to Bullman’s Parade and the Odsal turf for half-time festivals.

Odsal has also hosted various junior competitions throughout the year, with the Bradford Schools cup recently taking place alongside the Bradford Bulls Foundation Challenge Cup competition.

4 Heritage Project: The Rugby League Heritage Project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, has been designed to bring all sections of the community together to learn about, understand and enjoy the heritage of Bradford Northern, Bradford Bulls, Rugby League and Odsal Stadium.

Volunteers work behind-the-scenes to preserve every aspect of the Bradford Bulls and its Northern’ history. The Heritage department offer vintage programme sales prior to home fixtures, allowing supporters a glimpse at historical Bradford rugby merchandise.

5 Women in Rugby League: The Foundation are a key supporter of the Women’s team and are passionate about women’s involvement in rugby league as a whole.

The Foundation are the driving force behind the Bradford Bullettes, the club’s official cheerleaders and are also introducing the ‘LuvaBulls’ – the junior cheerleaders.

The Bradford Bulls Foundation is the official charity of the Bradford Bulls.

Their vision is to provide positive activities and experiences to adults, children and young people, regardless of gender, religious belief, cultural heritage or abilities. The Foundation uses the power of sport to educate, motivate and inspire the local community.

"We ignite enthusiasm and passion to replace low self-esteem, limited ambitions, anti-social behaviour and exclusion with positive lifestyles, healthy nutrition, education and caring about others.

"We foster confidence, self-expression and heightened horizons in innovative exciting ways.

"In order to be a successful instrument of change we ensure we involve our community in our decision-making processes and activities.

"We are fully committed to helping communities be more than they thought they could be."
