FORMER City ace James Meredith has left Millwall.

The Australian, who played for the Bantams between 2012 and 2017, has left the Championship club by mutual consent.

In a statement, Millwall said: "The club would like to place on record its gratitude to James for his efforts during his time at The Den and wish him all the best for the future."

The left-back made 181 appearances for City in his five years at the club, scoring four goals.

He achieved promotion into League One in his first season with City, playing in their 3-0 victory over Northampton Town in the 2013 League Two play-off Final at Wembley.

Meredith also started in the 2017 League One play-off final, where Stuart McCall's side lost to Millwall, who the Australian joined that summer.
