WITH Bradford Dudley Hill and West Bowling without games, the local spotlight fell on Drighlington in the National Conference League - and they didn't disappoint.

They won 26-24 at Heworth in Division Three, ending a nine-game winning streak by their hosts.

Drig's win came thanks to a late comeback. They trailed 24-16 with only three minutes left but a try in the closing seconds from Jack Dearden, converted by Michael Sanderson, clinched victory.

Tries from Baz Nicholson and Scott Bobin kick-started the fightback after two first-half scores from Gary Smith.

The win lifted Drig up to seventh in the table.

In Yorkshire Men's League Division One, Brighouse Rangers drew level on points at the summit with Elland thanks to a 22-0 win at home to Hunslet Club Parkside. Tom Oldroyd, Jordan Sild (2), Jordan Taylor were among the tries as Karl Frankland kicked three goals.

Birkenshaw Bluedogs earned their first points of the season in Division Three after a 24-0 victory against Wetherby Bulldogs.

But there was no joy for Odsal Sedbergh (22-10 loss at Hunslet Warriors) or Queensbury A (24-0 loss at home to Lambwath Lions) in Division Four.
