Wright only went on to play in one professional game for City.
The midfielder got 21 minutes in the claret and amber, when replacing James Meredith in a 3-2 loss against Morecambe in the EFL Trophy.
Since then, Wright has had spells with Ossett Town and Sheffield F.C., before impressing enough to earn a contract at Avenue.
Wright said: "I’m really happy to sign and to be given an opportunity at a higher level.
"I’m looking forward to continuing my development under the management team and show the fans what I’m capable of."
