Stephen Darby vowed to 'attack' motor neurone disease as he delivered an emotional speech ahead of the Bantams v Liverpool friendly yesterday.

A record crowd of 24, 343 turned out at Valley Parade in a match held to raise funds for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.

And former City captain Darby, who retired last year after being diagnosed with the disease, and his friend Chris Rimmer paid to tribute to fans for their support.
