ROTHERHAM midfielder Matty Palmer has become City’s 10th signing of the summer.

The 24-year-old has joined the Bantams on a season-long loan – although the Millers have a recall option in January.

Palmer was part of the Burton side that won the League Two title in 2015 before joining Rotherham 18 months ago. He has made 29 appearances for Paul Warne's side.

Palmer said: “I was keen to sign as soon as I heard about the interest. Having spoken to Gary (Bowyer) I was sold straight away.

“The gaffer was a huge factor in me coming here. He is a manager who likes to play a certain way, which very much suits my style.

“I am massively confident in being able to achieve promotion this season. I would not have come here if I did not believe that.”

Bowyer is delighted to have boosted his midfield resources with the capture of Palmer – and once again praised the City fanbase for convincing another target to come.

“Matty expressed a big desire to join us,” said the City boss. “There were several clubs interested in taking him.

“Yet again, our fantastic supporters have played their part. Representing our fans really appealed to him and helped in his final decision.

“Matty suits our style of play really well. He is a great passer and we see him creating chances for our forwards here.

“He has great delivery from set pieces and will add another dimension to our game.”
