BRADFORD (Park Avenue) Women will do battle in pastures new next season.

The side have moved into a new league in anticipation of the coming campaign, after 10 years of residency in the West Riding County Premier Division.

Avenue put in an application for a vacant slot in the North East Regional League and it has now been accepted.

The league is made up of three divisions: the Premier, Northern and Southern.

Avenue will join the Southern Division, alongside fellow promoted teams Hepworth United and Bridlington Rovers.

Some of the sides to compete in the division last season included Harrogate Railway Ladies, Sheffield Wednesday Ladies and Ossett United.

The latter ended the campaign as champions and were promoted as a result.

Avenue have arranged a short pre-season programme, which will begin next month.

Training begins on July 2 from 6:30pm and will continue on Tuesdays from then on at Horsfall Playing Fields.

In terms of fixtures, the stand-out tie is a rare match against Bradford City Women, who are now only two steps above Avenue in the pyramid.

That one is Avenue's first friendly of their pre-season schedule, taking place at home on July 14.

A tournament at Bridlington follows on July 21.

Avenue then round out their schedule with the following fixtures: Curzon Ashton (A, August 4), Harrogate Railway (A, August 11) and Nelson (H, August 18).
