BRADFORD City will play Preston North End in the first round of the Carabao Cup after the draw was made in a supermarket.

Gary Bowyer's side were drawn against Alex Neil's Championship side in an attractive-sounding clash at Valley Parade.

The Bantams will looking to cause an upset against Preston who missed out on the play-offs in the second tier despite a good season.

The draw was carried out by former England internationals John Barnes and Ray Parlour in an unusual place.

It took place in the entrance of at the Colindale store, around three miles from Wembley Stadium.

This season's 35 opening round fixtures will be split into Northern and Southern sections and includes cup debutants Salford City, who drew Championship side Leeds United. 

Matches are scheduled to take place week commencing August 12.
