CITY are understood to be in the running to stage future rugby league events.
Weekend reports suggested Valley Parade had been lined up as a potential standby venue for next month’s Challenge Cup semi-finals because of the financial issues with Bolton.
The rugby authorities have been given assurances that the University of Bolton Stadium will be able to host the games on July 27 despite the football club being in administration.
But Valley Parade, which housed the Bulls for two seasons in 2001 and 2002, is likely to remain under consideration for matches in future seasons.
