LIVERSEDGE missed out on silverware last night as they lost the Northern Counties East League Cup final 3-1 against Worksop Town, who claimed the double as a result.
The NCEL Premier Division champions became the seventh side in the league's history to win the title and knockout competition following their triumph at Doncaster Rovers' Keepmoat Stadium.
Steven Woolley gave Worksop the lead before the break and he made it 2-0 early in the second half.
Joe Walton pulled a goal back on 56 minutes for Sedge, after he got the better of Steven Wankiewicz to fire past keeper Dave Reay.
That raised hopes that the Clayborn outfit might yet lift the trophy for the second time, having won it in 2005-06.
But Ross Goodwin ensured more glory for Worksop with a third 10 minutes from time.
