THE in-form Greg Rowell (3), Ben Hopkinson and Kristian Smith scored for Horsforth St Margaret's as they won a nine-goal thriller against already-relegated Stanningley in Yorkshire Amateur League Premier Division.

Horsforth now play in the Yorkshire Old Boys' Shield final on Saturday at Southfield Grange School (1.30pm) and that will be Horsforth's first major final.

A 2-1 win for Leeds Medics earned them second spot in the Championship preventing champions Farsley Celtic Juniors going the whole season unbeaten.

Medics achieved a breakthrough when Kieron Wardman conceded a penalty in the 51st minute that was converted by Dave Emms.

It became 2-0 in the 90th minute when Brad Chambers scored from distance into an empty net. In time added David Walker made it 2-1 after some unusually poor defence from the home side.

Farsley Celtic will compete in the Yorkshire Old Boys Shield Final on Saturday at St Bedes.

Leeds Medics won the Marflitt Trophy Final following a 3-2 win over Alwoodley.

Danny Ashton gave Alwoodley a 1-0 half time advantage that they added to in the second half thanks to a a 25-yard strike from Cori Hendrickson. Only eight minutes remained when Alex Diaz's free-kick from 20 yards out went in.

Minutes later Francisco Matos ran 20 yards with the ball for Medics before delivering an unstoppable shot. Alwoodley failed to take an opportunity to regain the lead resulting in a break from Medics with Jean Marc Ekegue striking the winning goal.

In Division One, Golcar finished the season in fifth following a 3-1 loss to Farnley Sports Reserves, but they have only been beaten twice since October 27. Alex Roberts with the goal for Golcar Utd.

Idle missed out on promotion by one point despite a 1-0 win at Leeds Medics & Dentists III, scoring via Marcus Strudwick.

In Division Three, Leeds City, already promoted from second, drew 4-4 with Prospect.

Drighlington Res finished fifth in Division Four after going through the season without a drawn game following a 2-1 defeat to North Leeds Reserves.

Ben Trutch converted after a corner for North Leeds Res that led 1-0 at the interval.

Drig equalised following a corner and North Leeds took the points with an overhead kick by Alex McGauley.

Tom Mozley fired a hat-trick as St Bedes Academy secured a 4-4 draw at Shire Academics IV.
