BRIGHOUSE Town have reached the Evo-Stik League East Play-off Final after a comprehensive victory.

Goals from Tyler Williams, Aaron Martin and Gabriel Johnson secured a 3-1 semi-final win over Sheffield FC last night.

Town will now play at Pontefract Collieries in Saturday's showpiece (kick-off 3pm).

Sheffield took the lead in the 23rd minute through Marc Newsham.

Town equalised eight minutes later through Williams. Great work saw Johnson find Williams on the left, who cut inside and fired home from the edge of the box.

Brighouse took the lead two minutes into first half injury time. A corner found an unmarked Martin and the league's top scorer fired home the header from six yards out.

Vill Powell's side extended their lead nine minutes from time through Johnson after a Brighouse corner at the Yorkshire Payments Stadium.

Town qualified for the semi-final following the club's highest-ever finishing position.

It capped off a successful night for the club as Brighouse Town Ladies won the West Riding FA County Cup.

Brighouse came from 1-0 behind to 2018 winners Guiseley Vixens to win 3-2 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Liversedge secured their place in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Cup final following a 1-0 semi-final win over Swallownest.

Daniel Farrar's 38th-minute strike was enough to set up the final date with Worksop Town on Monday, May 13 (kick-off 7.45pm). The final will be played at the Keepmoat Stadium, the home of League One side Doncaster Rovers.
