TWO goals in each half saw Brighouse Town through to a 4-0 home win over Carlton Town – and lifted the hosts up to third in Evo-Stik League Division One East.
Town broke down the Millers’ defence for the first time midway through the first half when Tom Robinson latched onto a square ball from midfielder Zeph Thomas and slotted in at the far post.
Brighouse netted a second just before half-time, skipper Aaron Martin firing past Carlton keeper Jack Steggles.
The second half was all about the substitutes. Tom Haigh replaced James Hurtley in the 63rd minute and two minutes later added the home side’s third before Mohammed Ibrahim, who was on for Robinson, teed-up Martin for his brace.
If Vill Powell’s men avoid defeat at third-from-bottom Spalding United on Easter Monday they will be guaranteed a play-off place.
