Coventry City: Away Day Guide for Bradford City fans

But City are still likely to have a loyal following and if you're heading to the Ricoh Arena, we've got you covered.

TICKETS

Prices: £22 for adults, £15 for seniors, students and 18-21-year-olds, and £10 for juniors.

Tickets can be bought on the City website or at Valley Parade but spectators can also pay on the gate.

Any tickets that weren’t collected before 4pm today can be redeemed at the Ricoh Arena on matchday.

Away supporters are situated in the dedicated South Stand, which is behind one of the goals.

It has separate turnstiles and a separate concourse.

Roughly 3,000 fans can be seated in the stand, but allocation depends on demand and police/safety advice.

One source revealed the stand is quite steep, but that there can be viewing problems because there's a red track surrounding the pitch and the stand itself is further set-back from the pitch.

TRAVEL

The main concern for the big day is how to get there, how long it will take to get there, and where on earth you’re going to park.

Train:

There are a few options, but the end point is to aim for the Coventry Arena Railway Station, which is a two-minute walk from the stadium.

You can go via either Tamworth, Birmingham New Street or a more long-winded route which includes changes at Doncaster, Sheffield and Leicester.

For ease we'll outline the Birmingham New Street option.

You'll want to get to Leeds Railway Station first of all, to then take the CrossCountry train to Plymouth, getting off at Birmingham New Street after an hour and 57 minutes (six stops).

From there, you'll take the CrossCountry service to Stansted Airport, getting off at Nuneaton after 29 minutes (two stops).

Finally, from Nuneaton (which is where you'll end up if you go via Tamworth) it's the West Midlands service to Coventry, where you'll want to get off after 13 minutes (three stops) at Coventry Arena.

You'll see the ground as soon as you leave the railway station.

By car:

For this one, you'll predominantly be using the backbone of the country - the M1.

The journey takes roughly between two hours and two hours and 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

Once you're heading south on the M1, you'll want to keep on it for around 90 miles, before taking the M69 exit to Coventry at junction 21.

At the roundabout take the third exit onto the M69 heading to Birmingham/M6/Coventry.

It's 15.8 miles on the M69 before using the left two lanes at junction 2 to merge onto the M6 towards Birmingham.

After a short stint on here, take the A444 exit at junction 3 to Bedworth/Coventry (North)/Nuneaton.

At Exhall Interchange, take the second exit onto the A444.

Then, at the next roundabout take the first exit onto Judds Lane, before taking the second exit at the next one, and then you'll see the stadium.

PARKING

There are three on-site car parks which incur a £10 charge and can be booked through the Coventry club website, or through the Ricoh Arena website.

Car Park A and B are located right next to the stadium, with Car Park C just adjacent to it, across Jimmy Hill Way.

All the on-site car parks are subject to lockdown after the game, for up to 30 minutes, to allow fans to exit safely.

Judds Lane, the main road in and out of the Ricoh Arena is also temporarily closed after each game for the same reason.

Another option is the official off-site parking, which costs £5 and can be booked from the Ricoh Arena website.

The P1 car park is the closest (a 12 minute walk to the ground), with P2 slightly further away at the Wayside Business Park (a 19 minute walk).

One final option is the nearby Arena Shopping Park Car Park.

On match-day, anyone parking there has up to two hours free, unless you've purchased at least £50 worth of goods from retailers there which allows you to stay for up to five hours.

PUBS

There's a Grosvenor Casino on-site which has bars inside, but we've picked out some more traditional options:

Dhillons Brewery: This is your closest option at a 10-minute walk. It only opened in 2015, but offers real ales and bottled craft beers, if you're into that.

JK English Pub: Its business hours show that this opens after kick-off, but it keeps cropping up as one to visit beforehand for a unique reason. It is described as having a "pub feel" but it is also part Indian restaurant as well. It is said to offer a £5 all-you-can-eat lunchtime buffet as well.

The Longford Engine: A 14-minute walk from the Ricoh Arena, this pub boasts a 4.1 star rating from 201 reviews. It shows live sport, has a full menu, and has outdoor seating on the canal. What more could you want?

The Greyhound Inn: Touted as a "hidden gem" by one, it's up to you to decide whether a 30-minute walk from the ground is worth it. To help, the Greyhound boasts canal-side seating and is listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide.
