Bradford (Park Avenue) were unable to build on a good first half as they slipped to a 5-2 defeat against Middleton Athletic in the West Riding County Women's League Premier Division game at Thornton.

In what was Avenue's final home league clash of the campaign, the visitors were first off the mark, but Kirsty Russell produced a quick response to make it 1-1 after five minutes.

Russell pounced again after a goalmouth scramble to make it 2-1 before an Athletic player scored straight from a corner with the last kick of the half.

Both sides tried to get the advantage, but Avenue conceded three quick goals in the second half. Fine work by Bradford's stand-in keeper Nic Chamberlain prevented further damage but the hosts were unable to mount a comeback.

Elly Field and Sophie Fagan-Gaines' second-half goals gave struggling Silsden a rare win at home to Brighouse Athletic.

And the Cobbydalers followed up with a Supplementary Cup 4-0 success at Pontefract Sports & Social, Field grabbing a double as Alice McNee and Isobel di Franco also netted.

Brighouse bounced back by earning a 2-2 draw at Tingley as Sandra Bates and Demi Topliss both beat the keeper.

In the First Division, Megan Butterworth and Abbie Thompson were on target for promoted Thackley in a close 2-1 win over Ripon City, who still have games in hand.

Bex Holt, Holly Morgan and Corina Riley earned Skipton three well-deserved points at Boroughbridge. Sophie Dale and Hannah Spivey were on target for Ilkley Town, but they lost 3-2 at Dewsbury.

Thackley Reserves lost 10-0 to Second Division champions Farsley Juniors First, who have completed the season without dropping a point.

In the National League, Monika Stube scored her debut goal for Guiseley Vixens, who lost 2-1 to Sunderland despite an excellent second half.

Brighouse Town won 2-0 at Chorley, through a Charlotte Proud goal and a Lavinia Nkomo tap-in. Leeds United also won on the road, Rebecca Hunt with the only goal.
