BRADFORD Bulls Academy fell to a 36-4 defeat at the hands of Warrington Wolves despite a battling second-half display.
The Young Bulls trailed heading into the break, with Ryan Butterworth going over for the home side following a slick passage of play.
Four Wolves’ tries followed prior to the interval, before a further three in the second-half sealed the spoils on Thursday.
Leigh Beattie’s side went into the game having enjoyed an impressive start to the 2019 campaign and registered a fast start to proceedings.
Fast hands down the right edge fed Butterworth to dive over despite the attention of two Warrington Wolves defenders.
The Wolves hit back and proved stern opposition for the Academy outfit, with four successive scores prior to the break.
Lewis Hall, Padraig Anglin-Sheedy, Connor Wrench and Josh Thewlis all crossed for the visitors.
Bradford battled in the second-half and were unlucky not to reduce the arrears and produce a stirring comeback – the Wolves putting on another three tries.
Thewlis grabbed the second of his brace, with Nathan Roebuck and Joe Barnes sealing the contest.
