LITTLETOWN are taking advantage of their games in hand on West Riding County Amateur Football League leaders Golcar United with another successive victory.

The gap has now been reduced to seven points and a game in hand, as the table toppers were without a fixture on Saturday for the second weekend in a row.

A tighter than expected game against bottom club Lepton Highlanders ended 2-1 in favour of Littletown, which takes their run of consecutive victories to seven.

Prolific Joe Jagger got both for the visitors, putting him within seven goals of Premier Division top-scorer Buddy Cox.

Littletown remain hot on the heels of title holders Golcar and they still have to play each other in a clash that will probably settle the silverware.

The win also confirmed the Highlanders position as the worst club in the division, finishing in bottom place with seven points.

PFC also completed there season with their eighth loss in a row which leaves them just above the Highlanders in penultimate place.

Mid-table Route One Rovers, who have a glut of fixtures remaining due to cup commitments, inflicted a 4-1 defeat away to PFC.

Awais Khan hit a brace, with a goal each for Danyal Yasin and Alam Mohammed.

The consolation for PFC came from Faisal Khan.

TVR United were due to play at the weekend, but their fixture at the Thornton Recreation Centre was postponed on Friday because it had been double booked.

The tie has been rearranged for the coming Saturday.

This Thursday evening marks the first of the Heavy Woollen FA Wheatley Cup Semi-Finals.

Premier Division title-challengers Littletown turn their attention outside the league briefly.

They play Hartshead at Liversedge in their semi.

The game kicks off at 7:30pm.
