ALBION Sports had another good day in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division as they romped to a home victory over Garforth Town – making it back-to-back 3-0 wins.

The Lions had beaten Athersley Recreation by the same scoreline in midweek, a result which made them mathematically safe, and they celebrated with another clean sheet and three-goal haul against near neighbours Garforth.

Lamin Janneh opened the scoring in the first minute, and second-half goals from Alhassane Keita and Luke Aldrich saw them swap places in the table with Garforth, with Albion moving above their visitors and neighbours Thackley.

The Dennyboys were beaten 2-1 at home by local rivals Liversedge as Jonathan Rimmington’s men made it successive victories over Pat McGuire’s Thackley following last weekend’s 1-0 at Clayborn.

Thackley did get on the score-sheet at Dennyfield but it turned out to be a consolation strike.

Dan Broadbent netted for the home side in the 36th minute but it was a minute after Joe Walton had hit Sedge’s second. Brandon Kane had opened the scoring midway through the first half.

It was a day that Eccleshill United will want to forget in a hurry as they crashed to their worst defeat of the season. The Eagles were beaten 7-0 at high-flying Bridlington Town.

Joe McFadyen opened the scoring and went on the claim a hat-trick. Chris Jenkinson was also on target in the first half, while player-manager Brett Agnew bagged a second-half brace and Chris Adams netted in the last minute.
