BRADFORD City Women are back in action tomorrow, against Doncaster Rovers, following a weekend off.

City’s last game was a hard-fought, but ultimately disappointing, 3-1 defeat away to Hull on March 17.

Bradford’s last two away games followed similar patterns, City started brightly and taking the lead both times through Falone Sumaili, before being pegged back in the second half as they tired and their opponents found a second gear.

This weekend City are back at their Eccleshill United home where they host second-bottom Doncaster, who will be looking for a win to catch Sheffield FC in the race to avoid relegation.

Meanwhile, Bradford are still hunting for that elusive first point of the season with only four games left to play.

Manager Steve Winterburn will be back on the bench this weekend after a couple of weeks away. He will be hoping to keep up the momentum and positive attitude from recent games as Luke Norris stepped up from the Under-18s to cover Winterburn’s absence.

City and Doncaster last faced each other in November when the Belles ran out 5-1 winners against a very different Bradford side.

Only five of those City players remain at the club, and Hannah Shuttleworth will be facing her former colleagues for the first time since signing for Doncaster in January.

Bradford face three home games in a row in a disjointed end to the season, with the visit of Fylde being April’s only match.

City then close out the season with tough games at home to champions-elect Blackburn Rovers before a final day trip to Huddersfield Town.

Captain Maisie Norde knows the importance of momentum after two big performances from a team that is finally starting to settle.

She said: "Coming into this game off the back of two strong performances is a bit of a boost and something we hope to continue until the end of the season."
