Three late goals saw Brighouse Town through to a 4-0 win in Division One East of the Evo-Stik League but it was a harsh score-line on hosts Lincoln United.

The Whites had created the lions’ share of chances in the first half but they found Jordan Porter on fine form. The Brighouse keeper was back in the side after missing the last two games through injury.

Despite the home side dominating the first half, it was Vill Powell’s Town who went into the break with a lead. Zeph Thomas had broken the deadlock in the 38th minute with a stunning shot that went in off the underside of the bar.

There were chances at both ends early in the second half but a second goal for the visitors, in the 78th minute, broke the Whites’ spirit. Home keeper Phil McGann dropped the ball and Aaron Martin slotted into the empty net.

Another piece of poor defending by the Lincoln rearguard led to the third, Iwan Heeley slotting into the bottom corner from the edge of the area, and seven minutes from time substitute Tom Robinson curled a shot round McGann from inside the area.

All the other non-league fixtures featuring Bradford district sides were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
