BRADFORD City Women face a second away game in a week when they travel to Derby tomorrow – hoping to bounce back from Tuesday night’s 9-0 demolition at Guiseley Vixens.

City’s hopes of staving off relegation are shrinking by the week, with only six games remaining and a 13-point gap between them and second-bottom Doncaster Rovers Belles.

Bradford were on the receiving end of a 10-0 defeat when Derby came to Eccleshill back in January.

The East-Midlanders currently sit mid-table in the FAWNL, seventh out of 13 teams, although the difference between them and second-placed Sunderland is only three points. Last time out the Rams lost 1-0 at home to Fylde,

The Bantams will be playing for pride in these last half-dozen games, with one eye on the rebuilding project that will come in the summer if the club are relegated. Bradford’s committee will be hoping to recruit well and build on the core of players and coaches already at the club.

Tomorrow is another big day for Bradford City Girls as the Under-14s take on Wigton Moor in the County Cup semi-final (10.30am). They will be keen to go one better than their Under-16 colleagues, who lost to Brighouse Town on penalties last weekend.

League action resumes for our area's other teams but Bradford (Park Avenue) and Phoenix are without a game. Silsden entertain Brighouse Athletic in the County Premier Division.

In Division One, Skipton host basement side Leeds City at Engine Shed Lane, while Thackley continue their promotion push at home to Ilkley and Tyersal travel to Dewsbury Rangers' Wakefield Road ground.

Thackley's second-string play Second Division leaders Farsley Junior First at Woodhall.

Farsley Celtic have a Regional League game against York at Throstle Nest, while Huddersfield visit National League leaders Blackburn Rovers at Irongate.

In North Division One, Brighouse Town play Crewe Alexandra at St Giles Road, knowing that their current second place would not be good enough for promotion, and Leeds United host Liverpool Feds at Thorp Arch.
