BRADFORD City fans had their weekend woes added to with the early morning news that manager David Hopkin had resigned.
The Scot's decision to leave Valley Parade comes after a 3-2 defeat away at Walsall on Saturday, despite the home side being reduced to ten men early doors and the Bantams leading on 12 minutes after a Eoin Doyle goal.

His reign, which began at the start of September when Michael Collins was sacked, lasted just 175 days.
City fans have come out in their droves on Twitter to share their thoughts on the situation - from those reflecting on better times to the ones passing comment on the decision itself.
There's also a helpful sprinkling of people suggesting who could come next for the Bantams.
We take a look at some of the best reactions.
There was one from a legendary name in these parts:
Which sparked a number of longing responses from fans calling for Jones to put his name in the hat:
There were those who reckoned the ex-City stalwart could still do a job on the pitch now:
Here's one who is a bit perplexed by the circumstances:
I thought Hopkin was the sort of character who would battle until the end. A bit taken aback at his resignation to be honest. A daunting job for the next manager. #bcafc

This guy took a look back at what Hopkin had brought to the table:
Hopkin leaves with a win percentage of just 20%, he seemed a decent bloke but that sort of figure is a painful read #bcafc

There was a comparison to Britain's most pressing political issue of late:
#bcafc are the Brexit of the football league, problem after problem without no solution as to what is happening to our club.

Some reflected on how the mighty have fallen:
Is it really only 3 years since #bcafc were a shining beacon of how a football should be run, a manager backed through tough times, breaking even money wise, fans packing the stadium, now we’re the polar opposite, the years of hard work undone by 1 man 🤬 pic.twitter.com/9aLaYiQPAc

Others pondered on the club's future:
This next appointment for the club has to be right, got to start preparing for league 2 with a very slim chance of staying in this division. If they get it wrong we could go again next season #bcafc

New one be 5th manager in 13 months 😳 #htafc #bcafc https://t.co/Pys1lnEffu
— Steve (@gegenpresser21) February 25, 2019
And contemplated the issues at hand:
The Edin Rahic disaster class lingers on.
— Mark Douglas (@MsiDouglas) February 25, 2019
His appointment Hopkin, totally unsuited for this gig, gone, squad not good enough, wasters like Riley & Wright sitting on fat contracts, no money to attract decent boss.
His summer apologists in the #bcafc support finally get it now?
Writing was on the wall when we lost at Wembley and they asked SMc to resign. Massive red flag that was and now what’s been sown since then is now reaped. You only have to see the tweets after the managerial appointment last summer to see how many bought Rahic’s “vision” #bcafc
— Jonathan Hudson (@jdh1973) February 25, 2019
Hopkin let down by a load of players not good enough sat on big contracts, or not caring because they’re off in the summer anyway. All the hard work of the PP years. An absolute scandal that it’s come to this. Maybe he could have rebuilt in the summer. We’ll never know. #bcafc

Then there's those who have some "suggestions" for who should be next in the dugout.
From the nostalgic dreamers:
Get @DWindass10 in till the end of the season @officialbantams #bcafc

— Lawton (@LawtonCS14) February 25, 2019
I’d have PP back in a flash if Bolton sack him. And stick him straight into midfield. #bcafc
— Keith Wildman (@KeithWildman) February 25, 2019
To the slightly more realistic hopers:
So... this is the answer then isn’t it... surely... fits all that criteria. However much many might disagree for me he gives us a CHANCE, which is more than we have right now, of staying in League One. #bcafc pic.twitter.com/7lzIoqb6T2
— John Hutchinson (@JohnHutchinson) February 25, 2019
Whoever the new manager is and whatever league we’re in he needs time. 5 managers in 13 months is a joke! He maybe unpopular but I think Steve Evans could be the man, we need an experienced manager. #bcafc #bcafc

Please and thank you! #bcafc pic.twitter.com/HWPmUI48bL

All the way to the downright ludicrous:
Josh wright player manager #bcafc

Then we have those who are using the situation as a chance for light relief:
