WIBSEY slipped back to the bottom of the Yorkshire Amateur League Premier Division after losing a thrilling encounter 3-2 at home to fellow strugglers Stanley United.

Wibsey took the lead on 10 minutes when Jamie Brennan fired home from 20 yards before Rhys Bruce equalised.

Stu Davies slipped Stanley into a 2-1 half-time lead, only for Lee Smith to level matters in the second half.

However, Bruce added his second three minutes later as Stanley leapfrogged their Bradford hosts to go ninth.

Grangefield Old Boys are the new leaders after beating Bradford visitors Athletico 2-0 with goals from Rhys Moore and Chris Barr.

Calverley United bounced back from defeat to Wibsey with a 3-0 success at Stanningley United.

Matty Wilson netted on 25 minutes before a whipped ball from Dale Spink found Simon McQuiston at the near post for Calverley's second. A brilliant save from the impressive Will Grace kept Stanningley at bay before Wilson netted his second after a clever lob.

Goals from Sam Thorpe and Harvey Booth proved in vain for Drighlington as they lost 3-2 at home to Alwoodley.

A depleted St Bede's side earned a 2-2 draw at Garforth Crusaders in the Championship, with Bede's welcoming back goal-scoring legend Ian Horrocks.

He linked up well with top marksman Jermaine Moyce, who put the visitors in front.

Bede's man of the match Joe Byerley was a constant threat but Garforth responded to lead 2-1. Moyce hit the post and Sam Marshall scored from the rebound to make it 2-2 before the break and that is how the score ended.

In Division One, fourth-placed Idle completed the double over Whitkirk Wanderers with a 4-0 away win.

That came just a week after they had beaten the same side 1-0 win, with Jack Strudwick putting the Blues in front with a fine finish.

Marcus Strudwick saved a penalty at the other end before Idle came out of the traps with more purpose after the break.

The goals started to flow with Jordan Broadbent having a great game up top. He flicked on a cross for Ash Maitland to tap in before Broadbent got another assist, cushioning the ball for Jack Strudwick to curl home a brilliant shot before George Collins put the icing on the cake with a fourth.

In Division Two, Fairbank United got the better of Leeds City Reserves in a 3-1 win away from home.

They fell behind but hit back when Hassan Iqbal found Asim Hussain on the edge of the area and he finished well.

Fairbank's pressing game was much better in the second half, and the hard work paid off via a penalty converted by Hussain for his second before Shoaib Hussain rounded off the scoring.

Tyersal put bottom side Garforth Rangers to the sword 6-2 with goals from Chris Gibbon (2), Ryan Pogson and sub Owen Thomas Greaves with a hat-trick.

Prospect are seventh in Division Three after a 2-2 draw at home to Leeds Modernians, with Liam Goodaire netting twice for the Bradford side.

St Bede's Reserves regained their form with a 4-1 win at North Leeds Reserves in Division Four. Bede's marksmen were Gary Padgett (2), Kristaps Balodis and Nouredine Zeghoudi.
