TVR United scuppered their remaining game in hand on Premier Division leaders Golcar United which plants serious doubt in their battle for title glory in the West Riding County Amateur League.

For the second successive weekend they failed to take any points from a game where they had home advantage, while Golcar were without a fixture, meaning the title rivals now sit level on games played.

Golcar’s visit to Bradford University to face PFC was postponed due to the 4G pitch not being available.

After losing to strugglers Toller FC the previous weekend, TVR had a tough tie at home to contend with, against third-placed Littletown.

The Heckmondwike side also harbour slim hopes of finishing top of the pile with two games in hand on those above them.

A 3-1 win for the visitors keeps their push a reality, but TVR will do well to catch up now their games in hand advantage has gone.

The first half was goalless, but the game sprung into life in the second period with goals for Dave Wright and Michael Halessellasie for the visitors, as well as one for Littletown’s top scorer Joe Jagger.

That takes his tally to 36 for the season.

Asif Iqbal bagged a consolation goal for TVR.

Halifax-based Ryburn United moved up into fourth place and extended their unbeaten run of home games to nine with a 3-2 win against Toller.

Ashton Richardson, Christian Silkstone and Brad Waddington hit the target for Ryburn, while Emanuel Fete and Hechem Naat replied for the visitors.

It was goals galore when Steeton Reserves hosted Ovenden West Riding, with the tie ending 6-3 in favour of the home side.

The visitors weren’t helped out by being reduced to nine men in the game, with two second yellows leading to Damien Randall and goalscorer Ashley Skully being sent off.

Nathan Sloane and Jordan Pettifor were the other players to score for Ovenden.

Steeton’s goals came courtesy of Jack Richmond and Aaron Hollindrake, who got two each, with one for Casey Dowthwaite and Jan El.

Bottom-placed Lepton Highlanders, who have struggled all season to field a settled side, found themselves having to call off their home game with Lower Hopton.
