OUT of favour Josh Wright and Joe Riley were among a Bantams youth team that drew 2-2 in a friendly at Thackley.

Omari Patrick, who had been out on loan at Yeovil for the first half of the season, also started at Dennyfield against the Northern Counties East League hosts.

Thackley struck first through Ryan Basi, who planted a header into the net from a free-kick in the 19th minute.

After the setback, City's class began to tell as they piled the pressure on the Thackley outfit.

Patrick was looking lively, but it was Jorge Sikora who got the leveller for the Bantams.

A Reece Staunton free-kick was parried by the Dennyboys' keeper Luke Wilson for a corner.

That set-piece was forced behind for another and City made no mistake as Sikora stabbed the ball into the bottom corner.

Thackley went ahead again in the second period, when half-time substitute Nicky Matthews pinched the ball from City and slid the ball through the keeper's legs in the 73rd minute.

The home side had an opportunity to seal a victory in the 87th minute when Jack Normanton tried to lob City keeper George Sykes-Kenworthy from the edge of the area, but his effort crashed back off the bar.

Thackley's push for a third quickly backfired, as City immediately went up the other end and grabbed a scrappy goal from a corner, with Kielen Adams being accredited with the goal.
