A LATE salvo from teenager Jackson Smith helped West Bowling come from behind to win 3-1 at Bolton Woods in the Bradford Sunday Alliance League Premier Division.

Woods took advantage of a strong wind to score first after 30 minutes through Jordan Buck.

At the other end, keeper Alex Stephenson made a couple of great saves to keep Bowling at bay. West's Callum Wheatley saw his shot flick off the post as the visitors trailed 1-0 at the break.

In the second half, Bowling made a couple of substitutions as they welcomed back Kyle Dyche, who had been out with a broken leg since early September, and introduced new signing Tawheed Ahmed.

The 18-year-old debutant soon made an impression, opening up the defence with his strong running down the wing.

A free-kick outside the box was the ideal position for Bowling's leading scorer Joe Jagger to step up and hammer the ball past the wall and under the keeper for the equaliser.

With nine minutes to go and a draw looking the most likely outcome, up stepped 17-year-old Jackson Smith.

First, he drove in a corner which John May Cleverly back-heeled past the keeper. Then he ran on to a Callum Wheatley pass and calmly stroked the ball into the bottom corner to seal victory.

The win saw fourth-placed Bowling close the gap to three points on Oakenshaw, the side placed immediately above them.

They lost 3-2 at home to Wyke Rangers despite going 2-0 in front during the first half with goals from Marcus Edwards and Patrick Sykes.

In the Championship, Northern FC lead the way after a 3-2 win at home to Wrose Bull thanks to goals from Dan O'Donnell (2) and Steven Ryan, Andy Howland and Jordan Horsfall registering for the visitors.

FC Mill Lane made it 17 wins from 17 in Division Two with a 3-0 success against Eccleshill Lane Ends.

Throstle Nest kept their grip on second place with a 2-0 win at Prospect thanks to goals from Elliot Gregory and Darren Warburton.

Division Three saw Black Swan gain their third victory of the season when they beat Undercliffe 3-1 courtesy of a hat-trick of clinical finishes from Oliver Williams in the second half - a powerful shot at the far-post from Cameron Smithurst's cross; a glancing header from Smithurst's corner and a low strike.

Clayton Albion hit seven past Tyersal reserves and lead the table. A 15-minute hat-trick by Steven Wilkinson was the highlight in a 7-1 demolition.
