CITY have signed full back Calum Woods from Preston until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old has penned a short-term deal after agreeing his release from the Championship club.

Woods, who can play either left back or right back, has been at Deepdale since 2014. But injuries have restricted him to just an hour’s action so far this season.

He last played on New Year’s Day as a sub against Rotherham.

Woods previously spent three years at Huddersfield and played 26 times in the team that won promotion under Simon Grayson in 2012.

The former Bantams boss then took him to Preston, where Woods won promotion from the third tier again three seasons later.

Woods made 82 appearances in total for the Lilywhites.

Woods said: “As soon as I knew Bradford were interested, I wanted to come and play.

“I have played in this league before, as well as having enjoyed a few promotions into the Championship, so will bring some experience with me.

“Bradford is a massive club and everybody knows that. We are not where we want to be at the minute but, hopefully, we can start to push ourselves up the table.

“I am excited to get going. It is a different challenge for me but an exciting one."

City manager David Hopkin added: “We are delighted to have got this deal over the line.

“It is one, along with several others, we have been working on for some time now."
