ROMAIN Vincelot is back in League One after joining Shrewsbury Town on an 18-month deal.
The 33-year-old former Bantam left Valley Parade for League Two side Crawley in the summer.
The Frenchman made 12 appearances for Town but has linked up with Shrews boss Sam Ricketts, who he used to play with at Coventry City.
Vincelot said: “He was one of the reasons why I wanted to come here. I also wanted to come back to League One.
“I went down south for family reasons, but it didn’t work out as planned and now I feel good back in League One.”
Vincelot's deal means he is due to return to Valley Parade next week, with Shrewsbury - who also have former Bantam Alex Gilliead among their ranks - set to visit on Tuesday, January 26.
Ricketts said: "I’ve brought him in because he’s a character more than anything, and with that he can play anywhere.
"He can fill in one position one week and another position another week. He’s not coming in with one position in mind he’s just good all round.
“He’s a player who’s had a great career, he’s professional and will lead by example. How he conducts himself, how he looks after himself, all of the extras such as the gym work. I want to create the right culture and environment.
“Experience is a big thing. If he can just come in and pass some knowledge onto the younger players that’s vitally important."
