CITY are appealing for help in naming those involved in letting off smoke bombs and flares in last month’s game at Rochdale.

The Football Association have contacted the club for information about the incidents that marred the 4-0 win.

City have received a letter from the governing body and have issued a response ahead of Friday’s deadline.

Club officials are seeking eye witnesses and more details regarding those responsible, as the Bantams could face action from the sport’s governing body.

A club spokesperson said: “There were two or three incidents at Rochdale, involving smoke bombs and pyrotechnics.

“This is a serious situation, which is hugely disappointing, and we could face severe action from the FA.

“Those responsible do not seem to understand that they could inflict pain and suffering on one of their own and further do not seem to understand or respect the club’s history, regarding to anything involving flames or fire.”

West Yorkshire Police are now studying CCTV and photographic evidence in a bid to identify the culprits.

The spokesperson added: “As we have demonstrated to the FA, the club has codes in place surrounding these matters.

“When we identify the people responsible we will take the strongest possible action against them, whether that is banning, court action - or both.

“In the time between now and the police completing their investigation, I would urge supporters who can assist to contact the club.”
