ST Bede's are second in the Yorkshire Amateur League Championship following a 6-3 win over Beeston St Anthony's.

Beeston started slowly and goals for Alex Green and Andy McHugh gave the visitors a 2-0 lead with recriminations among the Beeston players.

Yousef Muhammad reduced the arrears to 2-1 by half-time.

A superb spell by Bede's lit up the game after the break with goals from Alex Green and Sam Marshall.

McHugh got the next with the goal of the game, when he beat a couple of defenders before a thunderous effort from just inside the box gave the keeper no chance.

A disputed penalty tucked home by Tony Garth and a far post effort from Luke Boden made the score 5-3, but there was still time for Bedes to reassert their authority and McHugh completed his hat-trick when he beat the defender and smashed it in at the near post.
