OLLY Wilson admits he is hugely flattered by comparisons with Bulls legend Jamie Peacock.

The 18-year-old prop is viewed as an exciting prospect at Odsal and recently took his first steps on the international ladder.

Wilson played for England Academy in their two Test wins over Australia Schoolboys and is being likened to Peacock because of his late development.

The teenager sees that as a huge badge of honour – and something he dreams of aspiring to.

Wilson said: “To be compared to players such as Peacock is unbelievable, he is one of the greats of the game so to be mentioned alongside him is again just a real honour for me.

“There is a very long way to go before I am even close to his achievements but that is the level that I’m aiming to get to.”

Wilson, who made his Bulls debut against Hemel in September, was being monitored closely by the club during his stint with England.

“The call-up really topped my year off,” he added. “It’s an honour to play for your country and against such prestigious opponents as well, I couldn’t think of a better way to end the year.

“Pulling on the England jersey is such a proud and special moment. It is something I genuinely feel humbled to do.

“You learn so much through these camps with the different mix of players and coaches you’re involved with. There is a good group of props, so I’ve picked up a few skills from them.

“I feel like I’m growing as a player the more games I play and the more I’m involved in different environments. I was a late bloomer, so I know I still have a lot to give and work on.”
