KEIGHLEY have made their first signing for next season by snapping up experienced Jamie Willmhurst from AllRounder Cricket Bradford Premier League side Bradford & Bingley.

Willmhurst will add pace and experience to Keighley’s opening pairing, which will be beneficial for them as they look towards success.

The 25-year-old left-arm quickie enjoyed a two-year stint at Wagon Lane, but has now decided to try pastures new.

He believes Keighley, promoted to Bradford League Championship First, is the perfect match to allow his career to progress.

Willmhurst said: “Joining Keighley provides me with the rare opportunity to join an ambitious, growing club that are looking to return to where they belong.

“Speaking to members prior to signing it was clear to me that Keighley is a cricket club built around a sense of community.

“I look forward to enjoying the atmosphere at the club and to contributing both on and off the field as best I can.”

The well-travelled Wilmhurst grew up playing in Staffordshire up until the age of 21, before moving to play in Shropshire and Cheshire. He then began a two-year stint at Bradford & Bingley, his first club in the Bradford League.

Following the success Keighley had on the field in the 2018 season, Wilmhurst is the first of what should hopefully be several new signings.

The club are looking to strengthen to help them compete in a higher division at both first and second team level as well as their new third team venture into the Craven League.
