MICHAEL FAFERA has continued his perfect start to life as a professional boxer - winning his second-ever fight in just 65 seconds.

The 23-year-old Huntington fighter wore shorts featuring a picture of him and his father, who passed away unexpectedly following his first pro victory.

Backed by a strong York following at the Elland Road Banqueting Suite, Fafera made light work of opponent, debutant pro Ant Donaldson. He landed a number of early combination punches and finished with a strong left to the body that forced his opponent to stay down after only one minute.

Fafera said: "A big thank you to everyone who showed up on Sunday to support me - without you, all this would be pointless.

"Also massive thanks to Stephen Melton for the countless hours he spends helping me progress every day, and thanks to my sponsors, KPA Support, The Noodle Box, Motoplex and Cannon Security Service.

"Unfortunately for the fans, the fight only lasted a minute, but my goal was to finish it nice and quick. The next fight will be all about skill and finding the right shots.

"Now it’s time to enjoy Christmas while keeping in shape. I’ll be back in camp in late December."

Fafera's next fight is pencilled in for March 1, 2019.
